Our mission

Why we exist

Many queer people face barriers when trying to access professional networks and support. OQCC exists to make that access more straightforward and more relevant — especially for people working outside major urban centres. Our mission is to support 2SLGBTQIA+ economic participation across Ontario by bringing people together, sharing knowledge, and creating practical opportunities.

Our values

What guides us

We’re intentional about how we work. These values guide our decisions — including how we structure memberships and design events and partnerships.

Accessibility & inclusion

Subsidized and free memberships — including fully funded access for Newcomers and Indigenous youth — plus accessible, hybrid, and regional options so people across Ontario can take part.

Fair compensation

We prioritize paid participation and fair compensation. We avoid unpaid-exposure models and are clear about expectations, time, and pay.

Participant-led

Our programs are shaped by participant feedback — we regularly adjust events, workshops, and initiatives based on what works.
